Babies!

We had an ultrasound today and saw our little bouncing twins. They looked like babies this time, as opposed to a bean of some sort. Baby A measured 12w4d and Baby B measured 12w5d. I am 12w2d so those measurements are perfect! The tech said that she has never seen babies this early move as much as our little babies. They were bouncing, twisting, kicking, and punching all over the place; so much so that she couldn't even get proper measurements on the nuchal folds of Baby B. There were 20 fingers and 20 toes from what we could see, and two perfectly beating hearts.

  2. I played the video over and over for Mariah. Her only comment was... "Baby A is going to be jealous because they don't have a video" LOL

  3. Oh no, we have plenty of videos of both babies! I could only load one at a time on here. There are more on Facebook.

  4. Hi Lindsay! My name is Kate and I'm friends with Lindsey Litton, so she forwarded your blog information on to me. It sounds like my husband and I are in the same fertility boat as your family was. I have a son who is 2.5 and we have been trying for 14 months to get pregnant again.
I also see Dr. Wenzel and love her! She put me on Clomid 5 months ago, but we haven't had any luck so far :( I hope you don't mind, but I am using your experience and pregnancy as motivation and hope that soon I can get pregnant too. As I'm sure you know only too well, some days you need a little more encouragement than others to keep wanting to go down this disappointing road. I only hope that someday I would be so blessed as to find out we are having twins.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am so glad baby A and B are growing just perfectly. I look forward to hearing all about your pregnancy adventures over the next 6 months :)
    Take care and congrats again,
    Kate

  5. Thanks for reading Kate! Any friend of Lindsey Litton is a friend of mine. She is wonderful!

I am so sorry to hear that you are having fertility issues as well. Unless you deal with it first hand, you really can't know the emotional roller coaster each month brings. I have explained it before as like enduring a loss every month when I would start my period and find I wasn't pregnant. It was like grieving over a loss, feeling like 30+ days was wasted once again. It was awful going in for my Clomid exams to sit in the waiting room surrounded by a bunch of pregnant women. As much as you can try to have a positive attitude about the experience of trying to conceive, there are days when you will need the extra encouragement.

I wish I could tell you when it will happen for you! Since I can't do that, I will tell you that it WILL happen, and that when it does happen... it will be so amazingly special and wonderful, and you will appreciate every single little moment of it. I really think that Dr. Wenzel is an awesome OB. She has delivered half of the babies born in Iowa City it seems! If you don't mind me asking, how much Clomid are you on, and how long are they going to let you take it?

Please keep me posted on your progress! Feel free to email me anytime if you want to talk one on one. Lindsay.mcgowan@yahoo.com For me, talking about our fertility issues really helped me turn it into something tangible that I felt I could work through, you know? Good luck with everything! Baby vibes to you!
